Description
Medium density polyethylene, commonly known as MDPE, is a type of polyethylene with a density of between 0.926 and 0.940 g/cm3. It is less dense than HDPE, which is the most common type of plastic, and is sometimes known as “black alkathene”.
Properties and features
Its Young’s modulus is between 172 and 379 MPa. Combined, these properties make MDPE a durable material that is resistant to impacts and falls.
The properties of medium density polyethylene include a density of 0.926-0.940 g/cm3. Its heat capacity and tensile strength are 1.916 kJ/kg.K and 12.4-19.3 MPa respectively.
