Description
Crude Ethanol, also known as raw or unrefined ethanol, is an ethanol product obtained from the fermentation of biomass such as sugarcane, molasses, corn, wheat, barley, and other agricultural sources. Unlike extra neutral alcohol (ENA), crude ethanol contains higher levels of impurities such as water, fusel oils, and residual fermentation byproducts. Due to its lower purity and higher water content, crude ethanol is not suitable for direct human consumption but is widely used in industrial applications, including biofuel production, chemical manufacturing, and solvent applications. It serves as a feedstock for further purification processes to produce fuel ethanol, pharmaceutical-grade ethanol, and industrial solvents.
