Description
HIPS, or High Impact Polystyrene, is a variation of PS (Polystyrene) that contains butadiene. It offers increased flexibility and resistance compared to GPPS, although it is less transparent.
Properties and features
HIPS enhances the chemical stability and purity of the final product, but also reduces the risk of toxicity, essential for applications in the medical and food sectors.
Enables the construction of complex parts with high-quality surface finishes at lower cost.
This property makes HIPS resistant a material of choice for applications where durability is essential (electronic devices, automotive parts, etc.).
HIPS retains its mechanical properties, impact resistance and dimensional stability even when exposed to temperatures down to -60°C.
