Description
Phthalic Anhydride is a white, crystalline solid with a slightly pungent odor. It is an important industrial chemical mainly used in the production of plasticizers, resins, and coatings. Derived from o-xylene or naphthalene oxidation, this compound is a key intermediate in the synthesis of phthalate esters, polyester resins, alkyd resins, and dyes.
