Is seeking an Engineer Polymers Sales Manager to join our commercial team in Brazil. This is a strategic, senior-level position within a leading distributor of engineering polymer resins. The primary focus of this position is business development, account management, and revenue growth

Assignments
Commercial Development – Core focus
- Manage, retain, and grow an existing portfolio of clients across automotive, industrial, medical, home appliances, electric & electronic, barrier packaging and all high value industrial segments.
- Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities through technical and commercial engagement.
- Develop and execute annual sales plans aligned with the company’s revenue and margin targets.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, volumes and supply agreements in line with company guidelines.
- Consistently achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs.
Customer Portfolio & Account Management
- Bring and actively leverage an established customer portfolio in Brazil from day one — this is a critical expectation of the role.
- Conduct regular commercial visits to key accounts and prospects, maintaining a high-activity field sales.
- Coordinate joint visits with the Technical Department when application support or material qualification (trials) is required — the commercial lead remains with the Sales Manager.
- Own the full follow-up of all leads from first contact through to order closure, ensuring no opportunity is lost due to lack of follow-through.
- Manage the full sales pipeline in the internal system with accurate forecasting, visit records, and account plans.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, pricing dynamics, and emerging applications within the engineering polymer sector in Brazil.
- Identify opportunities for portfolio expansion based on market and customer needs.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade fairs, and technical seminars.
Internal Coordination & Technical Alignment
- Work in close alignment with the Technical Department — participate in ongoing product training to maintain a solid working knowledge of the company’s polymer portfolio.
- Participate in regular training sessions and product knowledge updates delivered by the Technical Department and the Product managers to remain current on new grades, applications, and supplier developments.
- Conduct joint customer visits combining commercial and technical expertise — the Sales Manager, Technical team and Global product managers will perform complementary visits to key accounts and prospects, ensuring clients receive both commercial and application support in a coordinated manner.
- Own the full follow-up of all the leads from first contact to closure, coordinating with the GPM’s and the Technical Department on any application development, material qualification, or technical evaluation required during the sales cycle.
- Work closely with logistics, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure on-time delivery and client satisfaction.
- Coordinate with the supply chain team on stock positioning and demand forecasting for key accounts.
Profile required
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, industrial engineer, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial / technical sales roles within the engineering polymer resins or specialty plastics sector.
- Must bring an established and active customer portfolio in Brazil, with demonstrable relationships at procurement, engineering, and management level across target sectors.
- Solid experience serving clients in at least two or more of the following sectors: automotive, industrial manufacturing, medical devices, home appliances, or electric & electronic.
- Experience working with polymer distributors or resin manufacturers is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to travel nationally as required by client portfolio and business development activities.
- Established customer portfolio and network within the engineering polymer market in Brazil — this is a mandatory requirement.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- High energy, self-starter mentality — proactive in identifying and pursuing opportunities without waiting to be directed.
Technical Knowledge
- Working knowledge of engineering polymer families sufficient to hold credible commercial conversations with clients.
- Understanding of plastic transformation processes: injection molding, extrusion, blow molding.
- Ability to interpret technical datasheets, material specifications, and customer application requirements.
- Familiarity with industry norms and standards applicable to target sectors (e.g., automotive OEM specifications, medical biocompatibility, UL/IEC for E&E).
