PHARMA EXTRA NEUTRAL ALCOHOL

Description

Pharma Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) is a high-purity ethanol with a minimum alcohol content of 96% per volume, produced from agricultural raw materials such as sugarcane, molasses, and grains. Due to its exceptional purity, neutral odor, and low impurity content, it is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations, medical disinfectants, and antiseptic solutions. Denaturation : To meet regulatory and safety requirements, Pharma ENA is often denatured using:

  • Bitrex (Denatonium Benzoate) – an intensely bitter compound to prevent human consumption
  • MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) – a solvent with an unpleasant taste and odor
  • DEP (Diethyl Phthalate) – a colorless, odorless compound used in pharmaceutical-grade alcohols

These denaturants ensure compliance with regulations while maintaining the alcohol’s efficacy in pharmaceutical and medical applications.
