We are seeking a strategic, results-oriented Technical Product Engineer with excellent analytical and communication skills to lead and support market development for specialized and engineered resins in the LATAM region. The candidate should have a background in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in plastics resins and additives field and polymer processing, particularly in commercial activities, market development, and technical support.
Identify and develop new markets for engineered polymers and specialized products, from detecting opportunities to final product approval including trials in the customers’ production facilities.
- Monitor the resin market dynamics in the region, tracking volumes, detecting potential clients, pricing, and competitor movements.
- Provide general technical support to end customers regarding product characteristics, functionality, and process optimization.
- Regular meetings with resin suppliers to review leads, sales, action plan, opportunities, and strategies.
- Give technical training to final customers on material management, application, and process conditions.
- Periodic technical visits (together with the sales team) to commodities clients in the region to help them improve their process and strengthen the relationship.
- Support the sales team on homologous materials and technical matters that will help them close deals.
- Support on technical, regulatory, and compositional nonexistent documents that external customers or our logistic team need.
- Solve technical claims of all our commodity materials portfolio.
- Support customers in the homologation process of commodities resins that will help the company gain market share replacing other competitors.
- Prepare technical reports and follow-up reports to support decision-making.
Profile required
- Ability to detect new opportunities to develop the engineered polymer market in the region.
- High technical background. Knowledge of the main transformation processes for polymers (extrusion, injection, roto molding) including machine conditions suitable for each polymer.
- Knowledge of characterization, thermo-mechanical behavior, rheology, and industrial processing of polymeric thermoplastic materials.Knowledge of the main polymer properties and their practical influence on final performance in final products.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in international settings.
- Conflict management and effective negotiation skills.
- Teamwork and collaborative mindset to coordinate different departments towards common goals.
- Agility in technical responses and problem-solving abilities to address technical and commercial challenges swiftly.
- Willing to learn different aspects of the business including negotiation and logistic dynamics.
